Elementary LEAP students recently got the chance to use their creativity and imagination during class. Each student received a paper bag containing a “mystery object.” Students were then asked to try to use the object in their bag without anyone else knowing what their bag contained. After a few minutes, the students could reveal their objects and collaborate with their classmates to create a project using all their materials.
Various creations were invented, including a house, space station, a car, a woman’s face, and a star on skis being pulled along. The students all agreed that collaboration and sharing what they had was much more beneficial than trying to keep their item to themselves. Students were then able to relate this activity to sharing their talents, strengths, and abilities with others.
