Financial Need Component for Ephrata National Bank Trust Scholarships
All students and their parents are now required to complete a 2012-2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application. This form is found at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and is used to determine the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) which will be a critical component of the student’s “NEEDS” score for each of these scholarships.
Your Student Aid Report (SAR) summarizes all the information you provided on your FAFSA. Your SAR will usually contain your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the number used in determining your eligibility for federal student aid. Your EFC will appear in the upper right-hand portion of a paper SAR or an electronic SAR. You might not get an EFC if FAFSA needs more information from you to process your data.
If you have any questions, please see your counselor ASAP.

Understanding the Student Aid Report
If your students completed and mailed a paper FAFSA, they should receive their student Aid Report (SAR) in about four weeks. If they filed their FAFSA online and signed it electronically with their PIN, they should get an email with a secure link to view their SAR online in about 7to 14 days.
The SAR lists all the information reported on their FAFSA. If no additional information is needed, the SAR will contain their Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
Each school listed on the FAFSA (up to six) will also receive a copy of their SAR. The school's Financial Aid Office will use the information contained in the SAR to determine your students total aid package.
As soon as your students receive their SAR, they should review their SAR carefully to make sure it's correct and complete. If they need to make corrections to their SAR, they can write the correct information on the SAR and mail it to the address provided. If you have a PIN, corrections can be made online at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
Your students can also contact the Financial Aid Office at the college they plan to attend to see if the college can make the corrections electronically.
