Students get to work early on the annual FFA fruit sale

Well before sunrise, with the temperature in the low 20's, members of the Cloister FFA were busy unloading a tractor-trailer that had just arrived from the sunny warmth of Florida. It was the delivery of the fruit that had been ordered for the annual fruit sale. The heavy work took place at the Agri-Science Center and with well coordinated team work, the job was done within an hour. The fruit sale is the largest fund-raiser of the year for the FFA. This year the students sold 320 cases totalling nearly $5,000.

The goal was to have all the orders distributed to the buyers by noon. Some folks picked up their order at the Ag Science Center while others picked it up in the Ag room in the high school. Still others were fortunate enough to have the FFA members deliver it to their doors.
