Sister Cities International Art and Writing Awards

At the recent Sister Cities International Art and Writing awards that were held at the Eicher Arts Center in Grater Park, Ephrata High School had numerous award winners.  The theme of this exhibition was “Shaping Your Community for a Greener Future”.   Both the literary works as well as the works of art had to depict this theme.

The first place winner in the visual arts category will be sent on to the national competition for judging. In the literary categories, all winners, including Honorable Mentions, will be sent on for further judging.

In the Poetry category:

• 1st place, Adriana Roth
• 2nd place, Jenny Eckenrode
• 3rd place, Nicholas Flaim
• 4th place, Ryan Brubaker
• Honorable Mention, Jessica Hostetter

In the Essays category:

• 1st place, Kenneth Johns
• 2nd place, Ashley Ifft
• 3rd place, Rochelle Hackman
• 4th place, Kelsey Martin
• Honorable mention, Conner Land                       

In the Visual Arts category:

• 1st place, Jana Reed
• 2nd place, Christina Shelly
• 3rd place, Samantha Sweigart
• Honorable Mention, Anna D’Isidoro
