Unique learning opportunities pop-up on Groundhog's Day
story by Nancy Murphy
The kindergarten classes at Highland celebrated Groundhog’s Day on Feb 2nd.  They helped to predict which shadows belonged to which animals while reading a story about Gregory the Groundhog.  They also reviewed “cause and effect” while reciting a poem about his adventures.  The children created a poem to help retell the poem for others.  The class enjoyed playing a prediction game while reviewing counting skills in math.  All they need to do now is wait to see if their predictions will come true.
